Notable Historical Events Related to Drug Use in Warren, MI
In September of 2022, the Warren Police Department conducted a major drug bust around 12 Mile and Van Dyke. The drug bust resulted in the seizure of guns and drugs, including fentanyl, a deadly synthetic opioid.
In June of 2022, a 45-year-old Warren man was arrested after the Warren Police Department conducted an undercover purchase of methamphetamine. During the investigation, authorities found methamphetamine, weapons, and about 10,000 rounds of ammunition. A search warrant of the man’s home led officers to find narcotics packaging materials, 35 grams of methamphetamine, 14 handguns, 23 rifles, 24 crates of ammunition, and 100 individual loaded firearm magazines.

Government Efforts to Address Drug Problems in Warren, MI and Macomb County
Former District Court Judge in Macomb County and the Michigan-based Families Against Narcotics (FAN) executive director, Linda Davis, created Hope Not Handcuffs to address barriers to treatment for those struggling with substance use disorders. The initiative has law enforcement officers providing help to drug users without the threat of being arrested. Warren and Macomb County residents with substance use disorders can walk into participating police departments and ask for help and receive support, respect, and compassion.
