Local Drug Busts or Events

Federal agents at the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit seized nearly 300 kilograms of cocaine valued at $8.7 million from a Canadian trucker. The incident led to the arrest of a 27-year-old, who faces charges of attempting to distribute controlled substances, a crime that could result in a minimum of ten years in prison.

During a security inspection at the Ambassador Bridge, a Canadian resident and an Indian citizen were directed to stop for a check. The man was transporting agricultural equipment, but authorities noticed discrepancies between the seal on his truck's doors and his documentation, prompting further investigation.

The operation uncovered the cocaine hidden in Home Depot boxes within a truck carrying agricultural equipment but falsely documented to transport health and beauty products. This seizure adds to several large cocaine busts at the border in recent years.
