The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported that between 2016 and 2018, Muskogee County had the fourth-highest nonfatal drug overdose hospitalization rate in the state.

Between 2014 and 2018, 102 people in Muskogee County lost their lives due to drug overdoses. This gave the county the highest death rate in Oklahoma, according to the state Department of Health.
