In 2019, a 40-year-old man from La Habra, CA led authorities on a high-speed chase with 75 pounds of cocaine in his vehicle. He also admitted to having 132 pounds of cocaine hidden in a storage locker and 53 pounds in a duffle bag.
In 2021, he pled guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Anthony Martinez was part of a narcotics trafficking organization. He and seven co-defendants allegedly stored large amounts of cocaine in stash houses in Covina and Baldwin Park. These drugs were distributed to buyers in Southern California. Martinez faced a maximum of life in prison.
In 2015, La Habra Police executed a search warrant and seized 40 pounds of marijuana, $44,700, dozens of weapons, and arrested three people. The weapons included 25 handguns, 11 assault rifles, parts to build 12 assault rifles, and 12 illegal 30-round assault rifle magazines. All three arrested were La Habra residents. They faced felony narcotics charges and misdemeanor child endangerment.
