Workforce Screening, Digitally Delivered

HealthStreet was referred to us by LabCorp. We needed a Panel 5 DOT test which required a signature by an MRO. HealthStreet was awesome – I made a call, provided the information, and made payment over the phone. In a matter of seconds I had the registration via e-mail. It was seamless. Thank you!

Construction workers and opioid-related deaths in Elyria, Ohio

The opioid crisis in Ohio is particularly severe among construction workers, who face a sevenfold higher risk of dying from opioid overdoses compared to other industries. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer analysis, construction workers in Ohio have an opioid death rate of 27.03 per 10,000 workers, which far exceeds other fields. Contributing factors include the physically demanding nature of construction work, which can lead to injuries and chronic pain, the overprescription of painkillers, and a higher rate of workplace injuries treated with narcotics.

Despite changes in prescription standards and the introduction of addiction treatment programs, a significant number of construction workers still receive narcotic painkiller prescriptions. Hundreds of construction workers in Ohio have died from heroin or opioid overdoses since 2010. Between lost productivity and other associated costs, Ohio has lost billions of dollars to the opioid crisis.

If you are looking for a reliable drug testing partner, look no further. Health Street offers comprehensive drug testing solutions to help ensure a drug-free environment and increase productivity.
