The 37th District Treatment Court was created in 1999 to relieve congestion in the county's court system. It's responsible for handling non-violent drug and alcohol offenders and consists of three distinct programs: felony drug court, misdemeanor drug court, and sobriety court. The programs feature drug testing, treatment services, and comprehensive supervision and offer more oversight than traditional parole or probation.
The 37th District Treatment Court serves both Center Line and Warren. To date, the program has seen almost 400 graduates and has a recidivism rate of eight percent. It's one of the area's busiest courts for criminal, drunk driving, and drug crimes. This is mostly due to the city of Warren, which is the third-largest city in the state of Michigan.
