Frequently Asked Questions
What is GLASS DROP? How does it work?
GLASS DROP is our secure file-sharing solution that lets you share sensitive files and information with others on the GLASS platform or with external users via secure access links.
Sharing grants recipients access based on the permissions you set, allowing you to control who can view the files, what actions they can take, and when access ends.
How does GLASS DROP keep shared documents secure?
GLASS DROP uses encrypted access links and permission-based controls to protect your data. Only authorized recipients or those with possession of the provided links can view shared content.
All access is governed by the settings you define—helping prevent unauthorized modifications, or misuse.
Does someone need to have a GLASS account in order for me to share a bucket them?
No. If the user has ( or creates ) a GLASS account, for which he uses the same email address that you shared to, he will be able to access the bucket by logging in.
If not, share recipients can either sign up for a GLASS account or access the bucket via a secure link, even without an account.
What is a bucket? How is it different from a file?
A bucket is a collection of files grouped together in one secure location, making it easy to organize, manage access, and share related documents.
Can I end or revoke access to a GLASS DROP bucket after it’s been shared?
Yes. You can disable access to shared buckets for internal or external users at any time. Once access is revoked, recipients can no longer view or interact with the shared content—giving you full control even after files are sent.
Can I share individual files without sharing the entire bucket?
Yes. There are two sharing options available: sharing the full bucket, and sharing individual files. Choosing to share individual files will send the recipient and email with and attachment containing links to the chosen files.
Please note that if you share files this way, recipeints retain access to the individual files as long as they keep the sharing email and the file has not been deleted.
