In June of 2021, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced that 15 people from the Greater Sacramento area were indicted on drug trafficking charges. The defendants were charged with possession of at least 5 kilos of cocaine with intent to distribute and 280 grams of cocaine base. Two members of the group were also charged with possession and intent to distribute heroin. This bust occurred, in part, due to evidence found using wiretapping in 2018 and 2019. According to DEA Special Agent in Charge Wade R. Shannon, "These arrests underscore our commitment to rid communities of drug trafficking networks and the poison they peddle."
