A North Hollywood man was arrested and faced up to nine years in prison for planning to smuggle more than 88 pounds of cocaine in household products mailed to Australia. He then laundered up to $3.5 million dollars of the profits. The 47-year-old North Hollywood man admitted his involvement in a drug conspiracy that shipped cocaine via commercial carrier from Australia from December 2014 through October 2016. He also worked with his sister to launder the money, and she pled guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to launder monetary instruments.

In 2018, a 31-year-old North Hollywood man was arrested on suspicion of selling drugs. When arrested, he was found with $10,000 in his pocket, drugs, and a fully loaded semi-automatic handgun. When officers searched his North Hollywood home, they found a small revolver, ammunition, four large magazines, two semi-automatic handguns, and more drugs.
