The goal is for the prevention services to grow in all three boroughs, so the organization will support prevention, treatment, and recovery from opioid and stimulant use. Seventy-eight people are certified advocates and trainees and will help New Yorkers to find the treatment services they need and support them through the rehabilitation process.
The Queens Misdemeanor Treatment Court has operated since 2002 and has screened over 8,000 individuals. Its primary purpose is to help eligible defendants break the addiction cycle by referring them to treatments and providing them with alternatives to drug use.
