Awesome Service
AWESOME! My guys showed up at a Warrenton, VA Labcorp for a 5-panel drug testing appt I set up, and when they got there, Labcorp said we had to go through a 3rd party since we didn't have a corporate account set up. I called, and five minutes later, they were able to go in and do the drug test. Awesome service - thank you!

Addressing Northern Virginia's Opioid Crisis

As is the case with much of the nation, Warrenton and the rest of Northern Virginia are facing a rise in opioid addiction. In fact, opioid overdoses are now the leading cause of unnatural deaths in the state of Virginia. Recently, area medical providers discussed options for dealing with this epidemic.

Dr. Ash B. Diwan of Piedmont Piedmont Family Practice in Warrenton explains that anyone who takes an opioid for a length of time will become physically dependent and experience withdrawal symptoms. However, he goes on to say that unlike dependence, addiction is a behavior disorder.

To treat it, he advocates for a multi-pronged approach that includes abolishing the stigma, increasing awareness and screening, understanding treatment options, and improving access to care. He also advocates the use of the low-dose opioid buprenorphine to help addicted patients wean off opioids and goes on to state that counseling is an absolute must.
