In early 2023 in Monroe County, a local man was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for distributing fentanyl that led to someone's death. The man knowingly sold an amount of fentanyl to a 36-year-old New Jersey man, leading to his death in 2021. He was also sentenced to another 188 months in prison for a separate drug trafficking charge after conspiring to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and 100 grams of heroin. He'll face his two sentences consecutively.
