Workplace occupational health plans help employers provide a safe and healthy workplace for their employees and help employers remain compliant with local, state, and federal occupational safety and health laws. Employers are entitled to a safe and healthy workplace, without hazards. It is the employer’s responsibility to remove recognizable hazards when possible and provide the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe, properly working equipment. In Huntsville, occupational health services include vaccinations, titer testing (antibody testing), biometric screenings, vision and hearing testing, pre-employment and employment physical examinations, respiratory health screening, respirator fit testing, education, and proper job and safety training.

Alabama does not have its own occupational safety and health plan, and there is no state law governing Huntsville public-sector workplaces. Private-sector workplaces in Huntsville and the state of Alabama are governed by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which was established to enforce the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, which reduces fatalities, injuries, and illness in the workplace. Huntsville Antibody Testing
