Types of DNA Tests at our Oklahoma City, Oklahoma locations:

Avuncular DNA Test (aunt/uncle and niece/nephew)

Specimens we can test for DNA

The easiest and most reliable way to obtain a DNA sample for paternity testing is to swab the inner cheeks of the people being tested. These skin cells are known as buccal cells, and they rub off easily onto cotton swabs and remain in place for analysis by our laboratory. Other specimen samples, such as hair follicles, fingernails, and garments that might contain someone's DNA, can also be tested. An Alternative Specimen DNA Test is done by registering online and shipping the specimens to us.

Legally Admissible DNA Tests vs. "Peace of Mind" At-Home Tests

A Legal Paternity Test is a court admissible DNA testing service. Accurate results for DNA paternity testing with 99.99% confidence or greater take about a week.

When deciding which type of DNA test is right for you, consider first what you might do with the results. In order for the results of a DNA test to hold up in court, for child support, or to change the name on a birth certificate, the test must be done at a clinic using strict chain of custody procedures. Our Oklahoma City DNA testing technicians are trained to follow guidelines that ensure that the results can be used for legal purposes.

Establishing paternity in Oklahoma, OK

Establishing paternity is a process used to show who the legal father is. If a woman is married, the husband is considered the legal father. If she is not married, paternity must be established by DNA testing or by both parents signing an Acknowledgment of Paternity.

There may be a situation when the mother is married to a man who is not the biological father, and the birth father wants to be acknowledged as the legal father. In that case, the husband must also sign a Denial of Paternity. This form should be completed within two years of the child's birth. If either of the parents is unsure who the biological father is, they should not sign the Acknowledgement of Paternity. Instead, they can ask the court to establish paternity with a DNA test.

DNA test reunites family for Thanksgiving

Judy Kirkpatrick had her son in 1955 when she was only fifteen, and she decided to give her baby boy up for adoption. Years later, she embarked on the long journey to find her son. Adoption agencies and hospitals told her that the record was closed. For years, she searched for her son until Judy's niece had a match from her DNA test. Finally, they were reunited on Thanksgiving after 64 years apart!

Since Judy gave her son up for adoption, she has had four other children. She told them all along about their long-lost half-brother, so they were excited to meet him. Thanksgiving seemed like the perfect time.

Eventually, they started to talk and decided to meet. Judy found out Barry had the best life, and he had everything he could have wished for. He was happy with his life and did not think about finding his biological mother, but he had no hard feelings toward her because he realized how difficult it must have been to make this decision at such a young age. Now, he is happy they finally reunited.

I received the appointment confirmation quickly, BUT there was an email sent before a text indicating which appointment time was for which patient & it shouldve all been sent in one email instead of a text & an email.
Helpful, Pleasant Service

I called in to order a Maternity Legal DNA test. My daughter and her bio mother are going in for the text next week. The web site showed the service available in Stillwater OK, when I called in it was available only in OKC. Not happy with that. Otherwise the gentleman who helped me schedule the test was helpful and pleasant.
