Who should register for this test and why?

Employers, courts, schools, families, or individuals seeking a professional laboratory test with an extended look back period to identify street drug and painkiller abuse over the past 3 months should order the 5 panel hair follicle drug test plus expanded opiates. This test screens for usage of:

  • Cocaine, Crack
  • Marijuana, THC, cannabinoids, pot, weed
  • Phencyclidine, PCP, angel dust
  • Amphetamines, methamphetamines, meth, crystal meth
  • Ecstasy, Molly, MDMA
  • Heroin, codeine, morphine
  • Expanded Opiates (including Oxycontin, Percocet, Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Vicodan)

How does it work?

To perform a hair test, our technicians will cut around 60 to 100 strands of hair. The hair must be at least an inch and a half per strand in order to be analyzed. We can use hair from the head, chest, leg, or armpit. If the person’s head hair is shorter than 1.5 inches long, select the body hair option when registering.

Many (but not all) of our clinics perform hair tests. Of the ones that do, only certain ones will perform it on body hair. We’ll be sure to set you up with the right clinic location based on your specific needs.

How do I schedule a test?

You can register online or call us to schedule. You’ll receive a registration code that can be used at the nearest clinic to the city, state and/or ZIP code you choose. The person being tested can then walk in to the clinic with photo ID and simply show the registration code.

When will I get my results?

Results for hair tests are typically available in 2 or 3 days. Non-negative results can take longer. All results are reviewed and signed by a physician medical review officer, known as an MRO. We’ll notify you to call the MRO if your results are not negative. This is your opportunity to explain any prescription medications you might be taking, prior to the release of the results.
