Four Massachusetts residents, including two Yarmouth Port brothers, were arrested and charged with running a large-scale heroin and fentanyl trafficking operation throughout Boston and Cape Cod in 2017. Reports show the suspects produced hundreds of fentanyl pills that mimicked the appearance of oxycodone pills and then used altered vehicles to discreetly transport the narcotics.
Following a long-term wiretap investigation focused on the narcotics trafficking concerns throughout the Cape Cod region, it was discovered that James Ramirez of Boston routinely distributed large amounts of fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin to Alex and Kevin Fraga of Yarmouth. Alex Fraga owned a local pizza shop at the time, called Scotties Pizza, located in Hyannis.
During a surveillance effort, law enforcement reported that Ramirez and Kevin Fraga met on August 16, 2017, and officials stopped Fraga's vehicle shortly after for a traffic violation. Investigators received a search warrant for Fraga's Yarmouth Port residence, hotel room, and vehicle, where over 1,400 fentanyl pills along with various amounts of heroin and cocaine were discovered.
