In 2015, 18-year-old Antonio Orona of McPherson, KS was arrested in what was said to be one of the largest drug busts ever seen within the region. According to McPherson County Law Enforcement, deputies responded to complaints of a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado truck driving on Interstate 135 without headlights and tailgating other vehicles.
When law enforcement conducted a traffic stop, seven packages of meth were discovered inside Orona's truck. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation estimated that the hefty amount of meth discovered had an approximate street value of $1.75 million dollars. Orona was arrested with possession of meth along with the intent to distribute and was later jailed on a $300,000 bond.
