In June of 2022, a 57-year-old woman from Des Moines, IA was found in possession of 187 marijuana plants. in addition to these plants, investigators found 2,162 grams of marijuana, 1,591 grams of THC edibles, and other products containing THC. She was charged with three controlled substance violations and two counts of failure to affix a drug stamp.
In July of 2021, twenty-one Des Moines residents, along with six other individuals, faced federal drug charges in two indictments related to fentanyl and heroin trafficking. Twenty-four of the arrests followed search warrants executed at 13 locations in Des Moines.
