In February 2021, a Dawsonville man was one of several people arrested for their connection to a drug investigation in North Forsyth County. After receiving a tip, authorities began surveilling a home belonging to a suspected drug dealer. After attempting to make contact with the Dawsonville man, he tried to flee from authorities. Officers found 92 LSD tablets, 15 ounces of GHB, 40 grams of methamphetamine, three amphetamine pills, 20 grams of marijuana, and a sawed-off shotgun in the man's backpack. After searching the home, officers seized counterfeit U.S. currency, large amounts of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. The man's charges included the possession of a sawed-off shotgun, trafficking methamphetamine, and multiple drug possession charges, among others.
