Frequently Asked Questions

How long does DNA testing take for immigration?

DNA relationship testing within the U.S. only takes a few days. However, for relatives overseas, the time can vary, depending on that country's embassy or consulate. Health Street can speed up this process since we have a working arrangement with these global offices.

Is DNA testing required for an immigration visa?

Although a DNA test is not required, it is the only method apart from legal documents that is accepted for immigration purposes. If you do not have official documentation to prove a biological relationship, a DNA test is required.

How much does immigration DNA testing cost?

The cost of DNA testing for immigration can vary according to the country where your family member(s) reside. Lab fees are paid directly to the AABB certified lab. However, the consulate offices in certain countries may charge a small testing fee for your relatives. Also, shipping costs will vary by country.

About Our Immigration DNA Test

How DNA Testing for Immigration Works

Our immigration DNA testing referral services is designed to work smoothly and seamlessly to help expedite what can be a lengthy process. The sponsoring party's DNA is collected in a clinic that is located domestically, while the DNA samples of the relatives are typically collected at the U.S. Consulate office in their home country. Their DNA specimens are shipped to the lab where it is analyzed. When the report is complete, the lab submits it to the USCIS. Health Street does not perform immigration DNA tests; rather, we can make the appropriate referral to the correct AABB certified lab that can handle this process for you.
